Fellow Christians, Grace to you and
peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Last year about this
time, G. Craige Lewis, founder of EXministries and producer of The Truth Behind
Hip Hop videos wrote an article intended to wake up the church. Now, as we near
the end of 2011 it is still relevant concerning the state of today’s churches.
I believe the modern day church need another wakeup call, so when the alarm is
sounded we must hear it. Jesus said in Mark 4:9 “He that hath ears to hear, let them
hear”. The alarm has sounded. Do you hear it?

Romans 8:1 - 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them
which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.'
Before I start, I just want to let you
know that this daily word is tough but true. I want to ask you to please, read
it through and not get upset and cancel your subscription to the daily word. It
happens every time I write a word like this one. People will cancel because
they are hit hard. We have to get to the point where we will receive EVERYTHING
God is saying to us and not just the "good sounding" stuff. Every
daily word cannot be pleasing to the ear, but there are some things God needs to
deal with us about. Please, hear it out and stay with us. You will be blessed!
Now with that said, here we go!!!
2010 is not the time to live any kind
of way. Sin must not be practiced and we must come up to the standard that
Jesus Christ has raised for your lifestyle. Sure there is no condemnation to us
that are in Christ. But the next part of this verse seems to be ignored by so
many carnal preachers, pastors, members, etc! Those that want to claim Christ,
but stay in the club, live an unnatural lifestyle, and practice sin never finish
this verse. They always stop after the "in Christ Jesus" part! Let's
face it, the world doesn't need a carnal church anymore. The world is claiming
their own form of salvation and religion. Where did they get it? FROM CARNAL
CHURCHES! They have been watching us. They watch us go to church and then go to
the club. They watch us dress like pimps and whores and compete for best
dressed titles up in the church. They watch freaky pastors and preachers that
have no power get up with a false word in the pulpit each Sunday and bang the
secretary on Monday! They watch homosexual musicians and singers record CD's
and the Christian community raise them up on award shows or flock to their
concerts. They have learned a thing or two from us and so they feel there is no
condemnation for them if they claim Christ.
Ever wonder why people around us aren't
coming to Christ? Ever wonder why we can't seem to lead anyone into the kingdom
anymore? Ever wonder why the world is saying they are just as saved as we are?
It's because the church has begun to model the world and the world is leading
us. We have embraced the music of the world, the mindset of the world, the practices
of the world and the lifestyles of the world. All because we are not reading
and practicing Romans 8:1. But I have news for you saints of God. There is no
condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus who WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH, BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT! If you are walking after
the flesh, then there is condemnation! We gotta do better in 2010. Fast as
often as you can, pray as often as you can, remove distractions like TV,
Movies, Secular Music, or Ungodly friends and associates. Take some time to
work on YOU! We must no longer walk after the flesh, but it's time to seek God
for a better way.
